Even before the official foundation of youniqx Identity, the spirit of innovative and secure digital ID catched on
2012 – 2014
Established within OSD
The Austrian State Printing House (OSD) starts focusing on digital ID, giving birth to what would later become youniqx.
2015 – 2017
Founding of youniqx
With the launch of MIA - My Identity App, an innovation combining eID with digital documents. Two years later youniqx Identity is founded as an own company.
2018 – 2019
Blockchain and eIDs
Diversification of our know-how into blockchain solutions with a cold wallet named “chainlock”.
2020 – 2021
eID.li is launched
2020 marks the successful launch of “eID.li” for Liechtenstein. During the height of the COVID pandemic, we integrate the green pass into “eID.li”.

Paving the way between physical and digital documents by launching the mobile ID wallet “eAusweise”
2021 – 2023
Verifying ID documents
“CHECK-AT” as an official Republic of Austria App to verify the Austrian ID Card is launched. 2 years later the Austrian passport verification was integrated.
2022 – 2023
Mobile ID in Austrian life
2022, we launched the offical Austrian mobile ID wallet “eAusweise”. Starting with the mobile driver’s license, a public verifier and a police verifier.
2023 – 2024
Digital Roadside Check
With adding the mobile vehicle registration to “eAusweise”, we made Austrias roadside checks fully digital.
2024 – 2025
Sharing mDocuments
We provide Austrian citizens with integrated age verification, a mobile ID card, and vehicle registration sharing.

Cross Border eID.li
The eID.li 2.0 upgrade made a huge step forward to cross border verification by integrating the ISO standard 18013-5 for mobile driver’s licenses.
2026 - Setting the Stage
for EUDI-Germany
youniqx will be responsible for the design, setup, development, and operation of the technical platform supporting the state-run German EUDI Wallet app.
